Greetings! (I’m not from another planet, I swear)
Some of you may know me as the guy who used to have all sorts of blogs on this platform, but I ended up getting rid of them because they weren’t as professional or worthwhile as I thought they would be. That’s just the “long story short” summarization of my feelings regarding those blogs. I wouldn’t want to bore or scare potential viewers away by dishing out the details.
That being said, this blog is dedicated to providing professional film reviews, both past and present ones. If this blog is successful, then I may review television episodes or whole TV seasons, depending if that’s what people want. But, I figured I’d take the time to provide some more details about this blog so there won’t be any confusion when the reviews start coming in.
First, I understand that some people have an issue with reviews of their favorite shows and/or movies. For instance, some people loved the new Tomb Raider film but were infuriated by how some reviewers gave it poor ratings and/or reviews. I’ll even admit that I was disappointed with some of the reviews because they never provided details as to what was wrong with the film or how the problems could’ve been fixed. If I have time, I’ll dig around and post links to those reviews. In addition to this, no one has to read reviews or pay any attention to them, especially if there really will be a problem with reading them. This brings up my next point.
Unprofessionalism will not be a factor for this blog. Yes, there may be the occasional bad joke or two, but I’m hoping the comedic elements added to the posts won’t bring down the experience of reading a detailed review of a past or present film. If they do, then I’ll say, “screw the comedic elements” and stick with writing professional reviews instead.
On that note, the reviews themselves will be detailed to the point where they’ll tackle (mostly) anything within the film that’s being reviewed. Some examples include character development, character logic, pacing, tone, theme, plot, and storytelling. Since this will be the case, I’m not sure how long the posts will be, especially if I’ve watched the film (or films) and took detailed notes on it. If I had to make a ballpark figure, I’d say the reviews themselves would probably go past one page on a regular Word document and up to three-plus pages.

Well, that’s it for now. I’m hoping everyone understands where I’m coming from. The one thing I don’t want to do is have yet another unprofessional blog that paints me as some kind of asshole or paints me as someone who may need some professional psychiatric help for the hot mess he’s saying. (Note: the latter is a reference to a blog I had back in the day where I dished out my often-angry feelings about certain people in my life. Definitely not my proudest moment.)
Overall, thanks for reading :)
